Hi dest! congrats on 2K again!!! I was wondering if for the celebration you write a little Drabble about having a picnic with Chris or any of his characters? You know I have a soft spot for Steve but anyone you want to write about is fine! Thank you bestie! 😋💕

this is soooo sweet 💞 i can see steve being a picnic guy 🥰

you both have a full day off together for the first time in a while, so you expect to spend it staying home, relaxing together by watching some movies and not leaving the bed

but steve wants to do something special for you to make up for how busy he's been, and get you both out for a change of scenery

“where are we going?”

“it's a secret”

“we're in the middle of nowhere, i’d like to know if this is some sort of abduction attempt”

“i promise it's not that,” he chuckles, grabbing your hand and bringing it up to kiss the back of it. “just relax please”

he eventually parks on a gravel road bordering an open field and silently gets out of the car, coming around to your side to open the door for you

you follow him to the back and he opens the trunk, showing he packed it with some blankets and an old-fashioned picnic basket you have no clue where he even got from

“you're so cute,” you giggle, grabbing the blankets to help get everything out

once you guys get the blankets laid out, he starts unpacking the basket, first taking out two champagne glasses and pouring you each a drink

he made your favorite sandwiches and put your favorite chips in little baggies, and you realize he must have been up much earlier than you this morning to have had the time to do all this without you knowing

after you're done eating, you lay your head in his lap, looking up at the sky, enjoying the stillness of where you are compared to your usual surroundings, neither of you having any sort of urge to leave soon

“i love you steve,” you murmur turning your head slightly to look up at him. "thank you for this"

he smiles down at you, brushing his fingertips along your cheek. “i love you too”

I honestly feel like chris means what he says about wanting a family and kids but I think because of what happened with his dad, his anxiety disorder, and his career he might feel like he isn't in the position to be able to give his all to his family the way he would want to and thats why he hasn't settled down yet. That and I think he wants someone who understand that and is willing to go on that journey with him. But I don't I could be completely wrong lol maybe he really is just a player lol

lol 😭 felt that last part skjsk obviously we don't know and i honestly don't even care, but it is interesting haha

yeah no he has very valid reasons to still not be with the one after all this time. and obviously it's better to not string someone along/wait until it's absolutely right than rush and have it all go to shit. i can't imagine having his career and lifestyle like so much is out of his control i'm sure
