For the convict childcare au, I like to imagine Michael makes up like, nicknames for his favorite adults (Dream, Ranboo, Tubbo eventually, Techno probably cause piglin buddies)

What would their nicknames all be, in that case??

I can see Dream being like, “safe-and-warm” and Ranboo maybe being like “makes-happy” (cause of everyone being happy to have Ranboo back) but I dunno

So, Michael does give people name-signs, and since it's awhile before he learns finger spelling/how reading works at all, it's mostly based on either things he associates with them. c!Dream is the only one who had a proper name sign beforehand that he taught Michael (it's just Dream lol). His nickname from Michael is 'Good' but he makes his hand wavy like when signing Dream.

c!Technoblade has a rather literal name sign as well (Technology-blade) because Dream taught him how to sign it at Michael's request so Michael could ask for specific stories back in the cell. Michael just likes to sign a very fast 'Technology' for him though.

c!Phil is the only one in the Syndicate familiar with sign language, he creates a name sign with Michael (P-wing). And he tries to help c!Tubbo do the same, but Michael ends up calling Tubbo 'Mountain' instead.

c!Niki ends up stuck with the name 'Pink' because Phil was trying to teach Michael more colors and used her hair as an example. The problem is, Michael is red-green colorblind and can't tell the difference between like, pink and blond. So his assumption was that was just Niki's name. He adds a wave onto it though, 'cause he notices it makes her smile when he does.

c!Ranboo gets the sign for "Boo" because Tubbo learns the sign and uses it to refer to him without realizing it's a negative sign, and by time he figures that out, it's too late, Michael already knows him as "Boo".

Ok but imagine being Connor in the ‘Dream Sprouts Wings’ AU

The guy really just popped into existence and vibed with what was going on.

I'd like to think c!Dream did at least bother to explain the SMP and general life stuff to c!Connor before letting him run off on his own. Luckily when XD poofed him into existence, he got basic skills that are roughly the average of his "parents" so he's got that much going for him.

Also luck him, he never had a childhood so he has exactly 0 childhood trauma as a result! Score!
