Heya noony! I do like beefleaf. I feel like the books did such a good job at closing their tragic arc so perfectly round that there is no other way things could have gone hahaha. Every time I reread it, it was always painful no matter what - even though I already knew what was gonna happen. HX is such a tragic character by himself too, and being faced with the bubbly sunshine that is SQX... Haaa I feel for them 🥹🥹

I just saw you're into SnK. Welcome back! There's a ship that reminds me of tomarry. It's Eren Yeager x Reiner Braun. Have you tried to explore their intertwining relationship?

Lmao yep!! I'm watching this last season religiously every Sunday night now! Feels nice to back for sure.

Back to the ship though OF COURSE i enjoy eren/reiner. It's not one of my otps mostly bc reiner's betrayal hurt me too much and although I somewhat understand his motives I can't forgive him not agree with him (that's a personal opinion though, i totally see how they work as a ship and I like them a lot -that same sweet sweet betrayal tension... You have a big brain anon). I mainly ship Jean/Armin actually bc I'm partial to some angsty jock/nerd tension when everything else is constantly falling apart around the characters lmao, something about the constant tension of them getting together and then trying not to die on each other does it for me.

But back to eren/reiner, yes I do see the foil theme shared with tomarry, although if I had to chose a paring that thematically matched tomarry in snk i think I would actually go with Armin/Annie or even Berthord(?)/Eren, although I don't really ship those. Mostly because the big point of Reiner is how he has the split personality thing which I can't see harry or tom falling into. Manipulative personality for Tom, maybe, but that falls more into what Berthord was doing tbh. Even Annie was more manipulative than Reiner ever was. Both of them just go along with everything without 'any' (much?) Trouble (meaning none of them had to split their personalities for them to be able to cope with the situation) but Reiner was genuinely troubled. So a big part of eren/reiner to me is how they actually did share some specific flavour of bond before the betrayal that tomarry never could really achieve? As in, the bases of their relationship is very different to what a tomarry betrayal would usually be like. I think the other two ships have dynamics that are more similar to tomarry in a more character-based way, rather than just a circumstances-based way.

That been said, reiner and eren do remind me QUITE a lot of one of my fave tomarry fics, Love's Loathing by The Fictionist. If you haven't read it anon give it a try you might like it!!

I think I'm reading too much into this oops sorry anon! But thanks for the question this was fun!! Also this is just my opinion, and it doesn't mean I am right!! but I would love to hear what your thoughts on reiner/eren and the parallels you see with tomarry, i really enjoy shipping analysis, it's fun!!
