Necessary sacrifice of personal goals and happiness that's inherent to the role of a Crow, that a person might want to escape after seeing a different way of life.
I wonder if said opportunistic plot to assassinate house de Riva could come from Zevran Arainai? He would surely deeply sympathize with your Rook wanting to escape the Crow life, and he already has house Arainai temporary annihilation behind his belt, albeit off-screen. I imagine there could be a lot of back and forth between them two throughout it on like, a personal level.

Don't worry, I don't think there's such a thing as being invasive when that Rook is basically just a 3.5 concepts glued together and thrown at a wall! (she has a name, by the way, if nothing else. Jackdaw "Jack" De Riva. I can't believe I forgot to mention that)
I actually think that your idea is interesting!! I sort of have a problem where I forget to consider the fact that there is an entire wider cast of characters I could be working with, rather than just people present in Veilguard. There is a part of me that overlooks the fact I can just take any past characters and put them into a Situation with my OCs, and there is no one to tell me no. Insane! (very envious of my mutuals who just go out and do that with their worldstates, btw)
Maybe, with the right HoF Zevran's involvement could be warranted... Jack could end up something like his ally, his notoriety among the crows sort of keeping her safe from people that could dare to seek revenge... So many possibilities.
