I owe part of my growth in Denmark to observing nature, the strength of its roots and its fruits. Several years ago I had the pleasure of taking a career in industrial design, and although this resulted in the formal decision to continue with the fine arts and particularly within the painting itinerary, I have not stopped thinking about the ways that the environment gives us to make them ours in our day by day. The Poul Henningsen's PH lamp design (1924), is one of those representations from the observation, but above all, from an idea: to illuminate without dazzling (like the Danish light, I believe). My interest in cross-cultural design but also in the belonging, helped by the hours in the sketchbook, brought me the idea of representing the PH together with that icon from my birthplace. So I wanted both “species” (the industrial and the natural) to talk about multiculturalism.
