Shigaraki: There you are... Ruby Rose... Never thought I'd finally meet Remnant's greatest hero here, at the crossroads. I have to say, from what I've heard so far, I'm more than a little disappointed.

Ruby: I'm not going to let you hurt anyone, Shigaraki!

Shigaraki: Already acting so hostile to me? And you disappoint me all the more. Though it's not much of an improvement to my world, it's still better than the hero worship I saw there. That being said, I'm going to enjoy ripping your huntsman society out by the roots and expose the frauds for who they really are. But since you found me first, I'll start with you, and I'll start with your friends and family, killing them slowly one by one until you break. And I'll start by going after your true love...

Ruby: Uh... Yeah... About that... My true love is kinda... now fused with the soul of an ancient wizard.

Shigaraki: THEY'RE WHAT?! Why?! I mean, look at you! You're barely even a fully grown adult! Deku married his true love and he isn't even halfway from 20 to 30 yet!

Ruby: It's a long story. We were kinda too late to stop their souls from fusing, and it ended up saving our lives at the cost of his... It was all kinda one big blur, to be honest.

Shigaraki: Why do you keep bringing up souls? How does that even work? I know about aura, but that's an expression, isn't it?

Ruby: Yeah, it was all kinda confusing, and I barely understand it now, either. Even if I could explain, I'm pretty sure I'd miss out on some key points.

Shigaraki: I mean... You still have your sister, don't you?

Ruby: I mean, kinda, but she's been really busy with her girlfriend... Which is kinda funny, since she fell off this exact same bridge, right before I did and then I later found out my first and only girlfriend died here, too.

Shigaraki: WHAT?!

Shigaraki: Oh my god, I just... I don't even know where to begin with you.

Ruby: Yeah, I get that sometimes.

Shigaraki: I mean, your friends ditched you, and the ones who stuck around are either dead or living an existence that might as well be dead. And worst yet, you're broke with NO HELP!

Ruby: Yeah...

Shigaraki: I mean, I've had one bad day after my family died, and that started my whole crusade against fake hero society, but you keep moving forward despite everything awful that's ever happened to you! I'm starting to think my life's mission, while well-intentioned at the start, might have been better suited to making sure heroes don't live the life you do now...

Deku: (Sees Ruby and Shigaraki talking) What the fuck?
