Northern Wheatear (Juvenile Female) I'm currently on holiday in the Southern Uplands of Scotland in a remote cottage miles way from anywhere, and the internet/wi-fi is pretty hit & miss so I've hardly posted anything online over the last week or so. In between hill-walking I have been capturing a bit of wildlife photography in the grounds of the lodge where I'm staying, and it has been lovely watching the fledglings of certain species including Dunnock, Redstart, Pied Wagtail and the Wheatear seen here. Wheatears are a migratory insectivorous species that live in open country and fellside, so are often seen out in remote areas such as this.
