What is Amtgard?

So I made this blog for Amtgard but realized something: not everyone knows what Amtgard is. So Tegan Morningdove(the Baron of North Haven) and I created this post:

Amtgard's very definition states that it's a nationwide LARP in which people dress in garb from the medieval time period. Founded in El Paso, Texas in 1983 it has since spread across the country and the world so it's completely safe to say there's something for everyone. Amtgard is a wonderful way to pursue interests as it is so much more than just hitting people with foam weapons, Amtgard encourages multitudes of creative channels like photography, sewing, and knitting to name a few. Players also like to make their own armor and weapons which can mean leatherworking, metal working, (and what I think is the easiest) chainmail weaving.

So when all that is taken into account what is Amtgard? Amptgard is a creative and extensive piece of history, it has lasted 35 years and is still burning strong.
