A card for my husband for our 6 year anniversary <3 :) We recently rescued a Norwegian Fjord horse, who we’ve decided to call “Moose”, and he does NOT discriminate on things that he puts into his mouth e__e He and my husband love each other, so I went with a “Moose” themed card this year X)

I was going through some older paintings recently and found this Fjord watercolor I did in 2011 I think...I remember exactly how I felt while painting this. So excited, so proud, so happy. This was a landmark piece for me at the time. You see at the time I had just gotten a few rejection letters to art shows I had hoped to get into, and was feeling pretty bummed about my art, and my art career in general. Things just didn't seem to be working out like I hoped they would. I wallowed in that despair for a few days, then made myself get up, get to the studio and paint something! I chose this Fjord I had seen at our local county fair. I put on my favorite music, made some hot chocolate, and sat down to paint. I lost myself in this painting, looking track of time for hours. This painting took several long hour days/nights to complete. But when it was finished I felt healed, and I knew that everything would work out, and that I wasn't a terrible artist no matter what anyone else might say. I guess my point is, if you're doing something only for the approval of others you will always be disappointed. If you follow trends and create only what is popular you will not be happy. But if you do those things for love, or because you have to create because that is who you are, then you will be fulfilled.
