Thinking of that one time i ran into an old friend from school (like we were friends from ages 8 to 12 kinda that age range) and she was with her three young children, but we had a chat, and she had 2 more children that were already school age and I was just struck by how completely different her life had gone as opposed to mine.

She offered to hang out some time and gave me her number but I never put it in my phone and now I've lost it so I guess that won't happen. Maybe for the best, I don't think we'd get a lot out of the visit, we're such different people now.

I do hope she's happy

hey. same anon that thanked you for the mcr post last time. im a full grown adult and last night i decided to listen to the Bullets album, put on the old but gold smudgy guyliner and sneak out by jumping out of my window in the middle of the night. i cried in the streets and i threw rocks in the highway and i paced around not sure what to do with myself. i sat on a step in front of a shop and watched as cars passed by and i seriously wondered asking someone for a ride to far away from there but couldn't bring myself to. i lit firecrackers and i watched the fireworks caused by a football game. i talked to people out in bikes about the game results and i accepted a sip of beer from a nice older woman in an outdoorsy bar. i put on lipstick after retiring myself to the bar's bathroom and smudged it out while taking off my sweater later. i befriended a stray cat and left flowers on the grave of a small bird i had once tried to care for. i came back home almost drenched because it had started raining. i took off my earphones and i showered before going to sleep. i don't know what possessed me to do it. i just know something healed in me that day.

i wonder if other people feel this healing too. like a decade's worth of growing pains to your heart. maybe this is oversharing, and I'm fully prepared for it to be treated as such, but it felt like not being alone, and not like previously, where it was just me and a band that was long gone, it was me and all the sweaty people in the concert that screamed to the lyrics like i used to do in my bedroom. a weird sense of nostalgia, was all that was missing.

Anon, this brought me to tears. Thank you so, so much for sharing. I've found a lot of that healing lately, too. I went out tonight in black lipstick and a single fingerless skeleton glove, in my converse and patched jean jacket, just because I could. Because I know seeing someone else in those old digs makes the pain in my chest lighten, so I want to bring someone else the same sense of kinship. I find myself physically unable to do so many of those things that you did last night, but sharing with me helped bring some of that healing to me, as well, and I can't thank you enough for that.

i'm going to keep lying to myself and saying i'm going to fix my sleep schedule. when i know damn well that i'm actually going to keep staying up late replaying older pokemon games i've replayed at least 8 times while listening to videos on my phone until it's an unreasonable hour and i regret being awake
