It seemed like the average day.
She had been told by her higher ups to transport some hush hush documents to a Professor Xavier in Westchester. Her hair was up in a high ponytail and she had minimal make up on. In the times of silence during her travels, she would glance down at the white watch on her pale arm. All those numbers blinking back at her and counting down. It was like it was taunting her.
What if she were to meet the love of her life in a crowded supermarket? She could just bump shoulders with them and her clock would show those fateful 6 zeroes and that would be it. She would never see them ever again.
Pulling up to the institute, her SHIELD issued boots crunched against the gravel and her navy blue body suit felt abnormally tight. Something was….different. And she knew it.
Gliding through the doors, she made her down the halls until the smell of brimstone filled her nostrils and a cloud of blue smoke appeared a few feet in front of her. “Excuse me—” She was about to ask him if he could tell her where to find this Professor X but was cut off by a loud beep coming from her arm. Looking down she saw them….
…..the zeroes.
She gazed at the man, her eyes filling up with joyous tears. Sure, he was blue and sure he had a tail and sure he just popped up out of nowhere. But she could care less. For in this moment, she had found her other half.
”I-It’s you.” She whispered breathlessly. “Oh God, I’ve finally found you.”
