25 My idea of a perfect date.

ooh I like that one!! hmm. so it should definintely include a walk somewhere pretty. no hiking, just a calm walk, maybe during sunset or underneath a starry sky?

or. the aquarium. god how I'd LOVE for someone to take me there. please please someone take me to the aquarium!! holding hands and any kind of soft and gentle touches while we watch all the fishies go on about their day and stare at jellyfish with wonder in our eyes and watch turtles glide majestically through the water. please. I want that one.

and afterwards (we stayed there til closing hours btw) we go to the next ice cream parlor and we each get whatever we want before we walk back home. maybe taking a detour to walk along the river for a bit? and then we both pluck a flower at the same time - totally coincidental - and give it to each other.

and once we're home (or at a hotel or wherever we are) we let the TV play smth calm in the background while we cuddle. and maybe kiss a little.

it's as simple as that. I'd be the happiest person 🥺❤️

13. What is your favorite snack?

Anything crunchy, salty and spicy. There's a cocktail bar I go to that serve these little chili puffed rice nibbles and I could eat several bowls of those. At home, Doritos chili heatwave are my weakness!

15. What is your biggest pet peeve?

People who are rude to waiting/retail staff. Don't be a dick. Oh, and people who play music and videos on their phone at full volume in public, come on now.

26. What’s an achievement big or small that you’re really proud of?

Hn, this is a hard one because I've been conditioned not to feel pride, just to make myself useful... But ok, big acheivement - starting transition, I'm creating a whole new person over here! Small achievement - getting back into fiction writing and having some stories on AO3, which people...seem to enjoy??? I'm still baffled by that!

6. Not really, though I used to as a child a great deal. Now if I'm talking at no one it's usually either carrying a conversation with a nearby animal, singing along to something, or practicing poetry.

9. Hmm, all the really good gossip I've got was shared in confidence by friends under some sort of NDA for their work. There's a moderately senior official at the provincial department of justice I know for a fact is a casual (as in once every couple months) coke user?

26. Genuinely very bad at the whole 'taking satisfaction in your achievements' thing. On the whole I am really very happy whenever I consider that I've managed to write and ~publish (I mean, post) 1+ book review of some actually substance weekly for more than 2 years now?

#16: Do you have any phobias?

Claustrophobia (tight spaces), and to an extent, acrophobia (heights). I blame my height for both. It's a bit easier for me to get squeezed into spaces where it becomes difficult to move, and I don't like it. Heights? Not a fan. Not at all. (Some friends let me try their Oculus once. It got to a section where the character was moving along a ledge on the side of a building, and even though I knew I was securely in their living room, I froze up and started hyperventilating and had to pull off the headset.)

10. What is an act of kindness you have never forgotten?

I just spent a week visiting my mother and seeing all the acts of kindness her friends and community bestow on her. There are details of this story that matter and don’t matter, but to know that my mother is a few states away and more supported than she would be if she lived near me and my sister is a wonderful, wonderful thing.

oh man. the past is so overrated. I would like to see a pre-car modern era city but they were probably mostly pretty gross. can I go back to the 90s and just appreciate an afternoon? lmao

ok for real. the problem is that I'm too pragmatic to romanticize the past and I'm having trouble deciding on something. oh! I could go back and see like some famous dancers perform? or maybe see a Queen concert? that would be pretty amazing. I think I'd also like to hear Ursula K. Le Guin give a talk, about anything really. can I go back in time and see the original run of Into the Woods?

ok I feel like these are underwhelming answers. but that's all I can think of for now. I feel like I'm forgetting something obvious.
