After playtesting for Chimera Girls has progressed for a couple monthsā¦ Iāll probably take a break from ttrpgs and work on making a rework of my abandoned fantasy worldbuilding setting I worked on from middle school to early college.
Including:
The continent of Auburin, and a focus on the merchant country of rivers and roads, Therune. Its capital of Kingsbane, and a history of past occupation.
Mortal blood magic that literally burns itā¦ and can thus burn you to use. Enhancing and changing fleshā¦ even a system of runes based on the bases of genetic code.
And fae magicā¦ begotten of the fae blood of death, pact, or birth. Magic of metaphor, sympathy, and promises.
The Traveler, ill fated and mischievous god of stories and roads. Father of tragedy (doom), comedy (fate), and glory (destiny).
Half-elves who are physically stronger than either parent, but all but sterile, have expressions neither species can read or trust, and are fated to die at an early age of congenital heart issues.
YESSSSS I plan to explore that more. One of the primary characters I plan to write about is a half-elf trans girl with religious trauma.
Sheās the daughter of half elves from two different cultures. Oneā¦ a culture of formerly nomadic half-elves who over countless generations have gradually built a culture among themselves, and the heart issues have become less severe (dying in 60s instead of 30s). While her father was a half elf bred for the purpose of being a soldier of an elven empire.
Anyways her motherās side getsā¦ kinda genocided a bit while she was at a monastery her father and his family sent her to. So after that she goes traveling to try and find and collect the stories about her people left behind as they traveled, and retrace where they came from. And she has to now navigate her place in the world among primarily humans, after living with half-elvesā¦ and then elves.
A lot of that is subject to change though. But yeah, I love my traumatized half elven storyteller with dead family, asshole god, autism coded, and internalized transphobia issues.
