Okay okay okay so ur mention of Dakota’s hero worship got me thinking about something I talked about kind of on that one death penalty post.

But like.. removing any mention of possible death on a hero’s job seems SO weird to me. Its a natural part of life, and no human is perfect so ofc there is gonna be some fuck ups. It’s not like Bookworm is 5 or whatever he’s old enough to try and comprehend death yknow?

It just seems so purposefully manipulative for hero’s to want to not even have people think that death could happen during a hero’s job. As if they do everything perfectly and a hero has no flaws. Especially towards a person who obviously looks up to heros and would maybe want to become one. It’s so icky and I very much feel like this kind of shit gets people who are like Dakota into the super hero business all the time.

The only difference is that (I feel like) their own propaganda didn’t work on Dakota cause he has his own ideas of what being a superhero means, and that causes him to not always follow rules. I can imagine that a lot of the time it *doesnt* happen like that however (or if it does they get it sorted out and / or are kicked out of the program unlike Dakota).

Idk. It’s giving very much us military going to recruit kids in highschools vibes..
