hi can you please tell me that my null-adhd label is NOT an ableist thing to id with cuz my brains like "u nasty and hate adhd and all those w it and thats why" but like no??? thats not why at all???? im null-adhd cuz i used adhd as an excuse and i want to work on the traits in myself and how they contribute to my own personal laziness i love adhd and theres redo-adhd sysmates

i just scared of internalized ableism for the id in general

the null-adhd label itself isnt ableist right? my brain's made up reason is, yes, but not the actual reason i identify with it and not the label itself?

i really hate the rhetoric on here that its ableist to want a cure for your own mental illnesses/NDs because bc like trust me, if i could gve away my ptsd and adhd and bipolar disorder, i would in a fucking heartbeat while ALSO wishing for people to respect me and my illnesses.

it’s not one or the other and as mentally ill people we all have diff perspectives on our own illnesses yknow

i just saw a post in the self dx tag

about how someone was tryna buy a copy of the dsm v to try and prove to ppl that she self dx’d “the professional way” and she found out that it’s $200 … so she labeled it as not only ableist but classist


PLEASE tell me more about how a medical diagnostic manual created for psychiatrists, who are licensed medical professionals, to carry out their diagnoses in order to provide lifesaving medical treatment for chemical imbalances that are life altering, chronic and sometimes deadly is somehow “classist” for costing a couple hundred (which is so cheap for what it is btw) PLS i’d love to hear this explanation
