Step 4: Start relay (compressor not running) $15-25 part. Check this before the $275 control board.

This unit was not freezing anymore. A call for a GE refrigerator not freezing in upper part of the freezer and fresh food compartment is usually an air flow problem. Dave the technician found that the freezer fan motor not running. The freezer fan motor aka evaporator fan motor has to run to circulate air over the evaporator so the heat can be drawn out of box by the liquid refrigerant. He found that the fan motor was bad and he had to install new to get this unit back up and running. This repair can be difficult because of the amount of parts you have to take apart to get to the motor itself. Here are some pics.

Apco Appliance and Air out of Diamond Bar | Walnut | Pomona | Rowland Heights Ca are working on refrigerator not cooling well. The tech Dave witnessed no frost build up in freezer and the air flowing into the refrigerator section was good. He pulled the unit out and found that the condencer fan motor was not turning. This motor is to cool the condencer coil under the refrigerator and as well as the compress. When this fan stops circulating air it well cause the compressor to become very hot and shut down. If the compressor does not run then there will be no refrigerant being pumped threw the system to draw heat out of the box. Dave then changed the condencer motor and took a few temperature readings to make sure the compressor was not damaged.
