Trans women characters that are pieces of shit and hurt the people around them exist (when we make them) to make non-trans-women (and, honestly, other trans women) empathise with us at our worst so you see us as actual human beings all the time and not just when we're convenient quiet palatable people pleasers. this is a personal test that you will be taking for the rest of your life, and many will fail.
