I just wanna say, I recently turned 24 and I still get an amazing, fluttery, exciting feeling in my chest anytime I see a queer/lgbt character in anything just existing. Even if it is just me replaying my fav games. So take note of that.

just a reminder that even though I’m a dragon age ho, I’m always here for the saints row ga(y)mes.
YOU LIKE FABLE! thats awesome. Reaver's my problamatic fave too.
GOD I LOVE FABLE! It was what got me back into choice-based RPG after a long break that started with the end of KotOR, and was my absolute fave series before Dragon Age came along.
Which I feel like problematic isn’t even strong enough for Reaver, he is a Despicable Fave and I hate it and love him. Which I mean, he was a character that got the most screen time; therefore he got the most time to grow and get attached to (Theresa too, loved her). Absolute favorite character for the games, followed by Ben Finn, Walter, Garth, and Theresa; not in any particular order.
P.S. I think Sparrow is my favorite Protagonist from that series because their origin story was immersive and I’m a sucker for the rags to riches hero story.
@banillaveanofficial replied to your post “Gideon Emery is an amazing voice actor actually. like he has a very...”
a car? someone fill me in??
okay, so in Volition’s new Saint’s Row spin-off Agents of Mayhem, you have a voiced car ai. like it’s not a lot of lines, just some ambient things (and maybe some other things in missions later on? Idk I haven’t gotten that far), in a kind of knight rider style. things like:
“I’ll just wait here then” (when leaving car)
“Nothing a scratch kit can’t fix (banging into something)
“I look good” (jumping into vehicle)
“I bet I could plow right through a wall.” (jumping into vehicle)
So after the 10th time I heard this dialogue, I was like...wait, this sounds really familiar. And that is how I found out Gideon Emery did voice acting for an ambient car artificial intelligence, because why not and it’s money in his pocket.

My impression (i didnt play it) was it was a cheap leech game that stole for saints row
Actually it is literally a spin-off from Saints Row (the retcon ending from Gat Outta Hell, which we were promised) and it’s not really “cheap”. The graphics are spot on for the SR series, same with the characters, and there is some awesome comic/cartoon style origin stories that fit the style they were going for in the last of the SR DLCs (How The Saints Saved Christmas and the weird Enter the Dominatrix one). Also it is very much Overwatch style, just single player.
So I wouldn’t say cheap. The one issue I’ve had with it, has been the driving system isn’t as finely tuned as the Saint Row series. But also to be fair, it is to force you to explore more vertically like in the last game.
I’d say it is very much a game that stands on its own and honestly, unless you’ve been waist deep in the news you wouldn’t really know it was a Saints Row game. Because it wasn’t really advertised that way, beyond the one panel they had identifying return (but changed) characters, the Gat DLC (not in-game) character, and the vague Saints Fleur. What I’m trying to say, is that it really doesn’t lean heavily on it being a Saints Row game and using that to “get by” as a good game.
got no friends to talk about agents of mayhem with right now, so just geeking out on my mostly inactive twitter. because holy shit what good writing, what great characters, your overwatch could never.
I'm sorry to ask this but who's the HIM in DD you're referring to? (I feel like I KNOW...but I'm pretty sure I don't know)
You Know HIM
like good commentary on forced heteronormativity and how that often ties into religion (specifically for a mlm, who I think is 100% gay, in this case) with internalized homophobia. Also closeted men who can go their whole lives with “white picket” families and realize later that it is bad for their family and mental health to force it or it is not what they want/wanted.
and it was absolutely handled in a realistic manner. like that happens Too Often in the Same Way.
But also he is not a wonderful person, he is a very shitty person (with how he leads on his wife, his children, and his flings) and not a dreamy daddy. you know his son (chris) knows the shit going down in his “picture perfect” family, just from his behavior. and honestly, I just wish their family could have a Good Ending.
Not even wanting my character to be involved in it, just get a divorce, get the kids in counseling, get yourselves some personal counseling cause Yikes. That whole knowing your husband is gay/prefers men and sleeps around with them has messed Mary up 50 ways to sunday. Joseph is just all kinds of sideways from trying to make his marriage work, but finding himself more attracted to the men around him and then giving into “temptation.” And seriously Chris needs some help you all, Please.
tldr; The answer is Joseph and you ALL know why…and NO it’s not the “Secret Ending”.
