Having friends with specific music tastes while being someone who listens to whatever as long as it sounds good is both great bc you can interact easily with them and be like “oh yeah I’ve heard this!” and get cool recommendations and whatever. But also bad as you realize this awesome song you were about to share with this friend does not fit their taste at all and they probably will not listen to more than two seconds before saying they don’t like it.

Go tell a guy to stop calling you names; he makes fun of you or gets angry because it displeases him. “But I like it,” he then replies. Go tell a guy to take “no” for an answer; he laughs or gets angry because you’re just being a girl. “But I don’t want to stop,” he then gnarls back at me. Go tell a guy he’s being annoying because of these two things, he gets so angry he tells you to get the fuck away from him. He’s convinced ALL of him is annoying, even after mentioning only two bothersome things. It’s because of the people who replies to threads attacking other people’s choices, opinions and tastes - or makes everything personal. In this, it doesn’t really matter if Core fans or reboot fans. I’ve met Core fans with a shameful attitude and reboot fans with an excellent attitude, so no, it’s not about the era you like, it’s having some manners and knowing how to behave.
I tried hard with TRforums but I reached a point I can’t with that place anymore. Everytime I touched a delicate matter or discuss something it becames a freaking battlefield. And I come from a fandom - the Spanish fandom - which was also extremely toxic - and their main forum was a living hell to me.
So I’m kinda done with forums. 10 years ago I left TR fandom because I couldn’t stand the situation of hate and intolerance I had to endure - the abuse other people and me experienced there reached personal levels - and I’m only back since a year ago because I felt in Tumblr I could be happier and express myself freely. That’s all.
Right now I only visit TRforums to seek some information and leave sporadic opinions, but just once in a while. I’m not comfortable in a forum anymore. Please don’t take it personal or think I’m talking about everyone in that place. It’s just a personal, general feeling.
