Imagine if Stan decided to fake his death BEFORE Ford sent the postcard. But instead of faking it in some big city or something he does the same thing as in cannon... IN Gravity Falls too.

Ford finds him in the forest singing a tune to himself with tears in his eyes and a dufflebag on his back, getting everything ready to fake his death.

This could go two ways in my mind

1.) Ford thinks it the shapeshifter trying to take the place of his twin and burning the body of his dead brother, so no one looks for it.

2.) Ford immediately figures out it's his real twin and loses his shit, mad that Stan was more willing to fake die than to just reach out
