Thinking about how the name "Martine" means "servant of mars" which is so perfect for the echo wife. Because you hear servant of a God and think of someone who will bow to their creator, but Mars is the God of war. To be a servant of Mars means to be a warrior. But Nathan would never know that. Because Nathan never checks his work.

What zoo was that at? I was a keeper for 7 years and none of my zoos had that rule. What if the whole carnivore team had an injury? That was common since we always got scraped up. Did your zoo then have bird keepers trying to take care of carnivores?

Hey! Lincoln Park Zoo, but this was back awhile ago.

Oh man, I wish I could tell you. Honestly, the keepers didn’t talk to the docents much while I was tehre, except in passing. I got the impression we weren’t encouraged to keep them from their jobs. 

One keeper broke her arm, and could still work, but just not with the carnivores, as I recall.
