Sleeping With A Wolf : Lydia's Perspective
Lydia didn't know how she ended up here, with her cool face laying flat against the beating sound of a wolf's heart, no..a man's heart. The redhead found the words "a man" pushing their way through as if she was constantly trying to remind herself of that thought, that Peter wasn't a wolf in sheep's clothing but a man holding in a caged animal.
It all started with a simple kiss, though not entirely simple given their history but none of that seemed to matter in the moment, it was just her and Peter giving all that they could to each other without uttering the words of love. The only silence Lydia could hear was the kind left when they finally pulled apart.
The rest was a blur, a soft blur that ended with her coiled up closely to a man that she never wanted so close to her heart, with the fear of him consuming it whole. Though it was now something the banshee no longer feared but welcomed as she balled her small hands into the older man's shirt, taking in the musky smell and the steady sound of blood pulsing.
Peter had been softly strumming his finger's through the silky reddened locks of the girl, softly humming a melody into a peaceful sleep, when a memory arose inside Lydia, of the last time found herself up in one of her lover's arms (if that's what you could call Peter) but this time it was with a lizard, instead of a wolf.
Lydia softly laughed to herself as the differences between the two men became apparent as to how much they were like the creatures hidden beneath. Peter was soft and warm, thought had a bite towards anyone that threatened his home, his family, his pack. On the other hand, Jackson was cold.. he fed off Lydia's fire to the point of burning her out in a choking haze.
And that's when Lydia realized she needed to get out, she refused to be used and burned out once more by a man and his words. The banshee quietly removed herself from the older man's hold, but not without placing a tender kiss upon his lips.
As she walked towards the door, Lydia spotted the books bound with leather and the words "Banshee" inscribed across the bind. Her fingers quickly grabbed the books without much thought before she walked out the door.
It was better to leave Peter thinking she used him for his books, rather than used him for his love.
I am so geeking out right now. The latest episode of Arrow featured a cameo of the character Amanda Waller (again), asking Bronze Tiger if she wanted to join her "squad." As soon as I saw her talking to him, I knew she was gonna mention the Suicide Squad. I love the Suicide Squad. Badass villains working for an agency, each of them implanted with explosives so that if they go rouge, Amanda Waller can personally detonate them. I hope they do something with the squad in the future. Harley Quinn is also in the squad (in the comics). Maybe they will bring her in, too.
