It’s so wild to me that parts of modern fandom have decided that trying to destroy actually good tv shows with diverse casts and writers rooms is a form of activism? They’ll watch much worse shows that are much less diverse and never say a word, but the minute a progressive show comes around that’s quality they’ll rip it to shreds not via any real vehicle of criticism but just moral purity flexing. I’ve seen “fans” of The Pitt and IWTV/TVL just make up complete conspiracy theories about showrunners wholesale. It’s wild, dude. Just watch something else????

Imo if your 'satire' is completely indistinguishable from the thing you are satirizing, that's not satire. You are just larping and/or spreading misinformation.

Satire is inherently critical of its subject, and critique is active. Simply reproducing something is not criticizing it.
