And the other thing I want to say about Hannigram is that, it just is canon, like, within the text. Like yes, we have Brian Fuller's voice of god confirming this, but it's wholly unnecessary. The fact that we never see Will and Hannigram engage in explicitly sexual acts (their whole relationship is of course, extremely erotic but they're never kissing with tongue) is ultimately sort of irrelevant. And whether they die on that cliff or go on to live a life where they have a bunch of freak sex or go on to live a life together where they do a bunch of other freak shit but don't fuck is also completely irrelevant to the existence of their love for each other. The entire thesis of the show is them choosing each other, it is about being consumed by an all encompassing obsession that goes beyond romantic or sexual intimacy but is certainly not exclusive from it. To consume someone whole means to take ownership of every part of them, and that inherently includes romantic love and sexual desire to the extent that either of them are capable of it.
My point being, is that Hannigram as it is depicted in the text, is canon, and to argue otherwise would be (in my opinion of course) an incredibly bad faith interpretation. And while we don't need word of god validation of that, the fact that the creator acknowledges this does point towards the intentionality of this: Will and Hannibal read as romantic and sexual, because that is the story that Fuller was trying to tell.
All of which to say, when I see other stories playing out with same beats as Hannigram but shrouded with a layer of intense denial either by the creators or the fans, it does in fact, read as disingenuous.
why are the avs letting HIM score
