It is a Wizard of Oz meets GOTG tale about an orphan from an abandoned planet, a retired starfighter pilot turned junk hauler, and an aspiring chef/ship stop clerk and their quest to repair a priceless but malfunctioning robot.

By the time he's finished pulling her her boots from her feet and hanging her cloak on the back of the closet door, Raven has burried herself beneath her comforter, apparently skipping proper jammies.

She looks so fucking small beneath the pile of blankets. Breakable. It’s wrong, it’s all fucking wrong. Raven isn’t fragile. Gar hates seeing her like- nope, no. He doesn’t care, it’s all fine. Feelings? What feelings.
“All in a day’s work ma’am.”
A decade after a Tamaranean princess crash landed on earth, the Titans are a very different team. Between conflicting responsibilities across the country, calls from higher powers, floundering civilian careers, and intergalactic politics, they hardly look like a team at all. And with new members who can more than handle themselves, the titans start to wonder what they’re holding onto.

Follows two trips to a Tea House years apart. Korra and Asami drink tea together and Korra prepares to ask Asami an important question.
Yet another new study debunked the basis for the anti-trans sports bans. It was never about sports but for creating legal avenues for exclusion and abjection. This is one of the largest analyses ever conducted, involving 52 studies and 6,485 trans people. Read the study here.
I can't access the full paper, but their conclusion is right there in the abstract:
While transgender women exhibited higher lean mass than cisgender women, their physical fitness was comparable. Current evidence is mostly low certainty and has heterogenous quality but does not support theories of inherent athletic advantages for transgender women over cisgender.
And you know what, speaking of Superboy Prime, at some point we may need to interrogate why “violent, misanthropic white man gets forgiven and praised for his growth after apologizing in a way that specifically does not invalidate his masculinity” is such a popular, quickly latched-onto narrative.
And perhaps we should interrogate who that narrative is for.
Damian has literally been sent to hell. Tara has been treated like...Tara by basically every narrative she has ever been in. To this day, people still refuse to acknowledge their growth, their nuance, or the lack of agency baked into their circumstances.
But then you get a willing, spiteful mass murderer who spends five dubious minutes posing as less of an asshole, and suddenly he is the freshest, hottest concept in comics. We simply must root for him. We must celebrate his growth. We must ignore the continuity of his crimes. And if you point out that he has, in fact, done horrific things on purpose, suddenly you’re “taking comics too seriously.”
Interesting.
Redemption arcs are not the problem. Growth is not the problem. Characters with blood on their hands becoming better is not the problem.
The problem is how quickly some fans recognize humanity, nuance, pain, and potential in a violent white male power fantasy, while treating characters like Damian, Talia, Tara, and plenty of others as permanently defined by their worst context, their worst writing, or their least charitable interpretation. Even Diana suffers from this and she didn't even really do anything wrong--
What could possibly cause people to project so hard into that archetype?
I just wanted to add this quote from the peppermint patty peanuts wiki page about Charles M. Schulz and his relationship with his gay cousin. The source here leads to a book that I did not read but the original source is Schulz's wife who confirmed this in an interview. If I can find the interview again I will link it here but uh. just in case someone tries to claim Schulz was a homophobe on this post again.
I think that the Hamilton musical is objectively the funniest thing that could happen to that man's memory. Imagine dying of a gunshot wound infection in 1804 and learning from the afterlife that tweenage girls in 2017 are drawing thousands upon thousands of images of you making out with your fellow congressmen because someone wrote a 2-hour rap opera about you. I like to imagine that Hamilton found a monkey's paw and wished to leave a legacy, and this is what it did to him.
