D’artagnan looked at the ground, not quite sure how to answer. “I-I may have gotten on someone’s bad side…” His cat ears and tail drooped.

Mark wasn't sure how Regina had managed to get the hat to work but even with his limited knowledge of magic he knew something was wrong with it. Just as the wrath flew into it Emma pushed Regina out of the way and just to be sure he pushed them both a little further. That was when with one last black tendril the wrath reached up and pulled him toward the portal.
He heard Regina and Charming call his name, as magic left the Evil Queen's hand. Whether she was trying to help or ensure he fell into the portal he couldn't know because his vision went black after that. When he woke up he was in the forest. Rubbing his head he looked around before he saw the toll bridge.
Whatever Regina had done saved him from the void the hat took the wrath too and dropped him outside of town... only it was daylight now. Great Emma and Charming would be beside themselves with worry, he was a little surprised he didn't hear them or Red calling for him. Climbing to his feet Mark headed back toward town.
As he made it to main street first as his stomach growled. Food could wait... but Granny's was a good place to start looking for them. But when he got close enough to see Red putting out the open sign he raised a hand to wave at her. She hardly glanced at him before turning to head back inside.
"That's weird."
