Awoke today to find the Queen Butterfly (Danaus gilippus) hanging newly emerged on the chrysalis! 🐛❤️🦋 _ Yes, this does look very similar to Monarch but I promise this is a different species. I recently posted the caterpillar as well and if you look carefully you can see the difference. _ This caterpillar was found on a milkweed plant. We are falsely programmed that the Monarch is the only butterfly caterpillar that feed on milkweed. This species does as well. 😊 #notamonarch #queenbutterfly
