Families of choice

Where do I even begin? I love that found families provide the coziness of family, along with the acknowledgement that we don’t always get these things from our flesh and blood but we have the ability to provide that for each other. There’s such a lovely optimism to the idea that we can create a place of warmth and safety for each other, even if the bonds tying us together have nothing to do with blood.

I have no idea what’s going on but the construction “Hugo’s Marat, Father of Vampires” made me laugh in an unbecoming manner.

It was a running joke in the Ninety Three readalong group? Inspired by Hugo's WAAAYYY OTT version of Marat as SCARY EMBODIMENT OF MOB FURY, SCHEMING AND DARKNESS IN THE SHADOWS, WHOOOOO. It really IS funny; Hugo respects the French Revolution and does fairly okay by most of its participants, but WHOOO SCARY MARAT IS SCARY. XD

Combeferre for the weird headcanons!

Combeferre! :D

What they smell like: I don’t want to say ‘subtle but warm and envelopping cologne, the kind that the perfect date would wear to take you out’ because this is the least specific thing but, yeah.

How they sleep (sleeping position, schedule, etc): not very well at all; with a night light, windows cracked open when reasonnable to do so, otherwise definitely some gentle music playing.

What music they enjoy: instrumental, to help focus, and world music. 

How much time they spend getting ready every morning: not much! shower, shave, get dresses. he  can usually be out the door in under an hour, usually around half.

Their favorite thing to collect: bOOKS. and shoes. bookmarks, but he never uses them.

Left or right-handed: Right-handed.

Religion (if any): Agnostic - he’s open to a lot of things.

Favorite sport: Soccer, definitely a soccer guy.

Favorite touristy thing to do when traveling (museums, local food, sightseeing, etc): EVERYTHING. He loves going to see local theater, but also museums, obviously, and sightseeing.

Favorite kind of weather: Sunny, warm, the best weather for long walks, but he also loves these dark few minutes before a thunderstorm.

A weird/obscure fear they have: He still has nightmares about getting to class and realising he forgot to put on pants.

The carnival/arcade game they always win without fail: he can play pinball forever and probably holds a couple of records at the pub ahah.

Lagertha, Joly, Aziraphale

Lagertha: ENEMIES TO LOVERS. Lots of angry gazing turning into less angry gazing, etc. etc. Like, she’s terrifying, this is a dangerous game, but you know what, I am willing to risk it.

Joly: Slow burn! The PUNNIEST slow burn. It would be DEEPLY delightful.

Aziraphale: If Mithian is the most competent fake dating partner, Aziraphale is the least competent one, let’s be honest here. He would try very hard! And therein would be our downfall. He’d be uncomfortable with lying for such low-stakes reasons, he’d miracle at least one thing, he’d have at least one Wait Humans What moment ... disaster. I mean, hilarious disaster that would come out okay in the end, but disaster.
