Duncan was thankful for finally being able to make camp. Marching all over the Hinterlands, as beautiful as he found it, was a nightmare of hills, mages, templars, and elfroot. If he tripped over that damn weed one more time, he’d eat the plant whole!

Settling down by the fire, he looked over at the Inquisitor. “How are you feeling? You’ve had a lot thrown at you recently, though you seem to be handling it well.”

To say he was surprised by Athos’ sudden entrance into his quarters was a understatement. Especially in his state of undress. 

“Inquisitor? I must say, I wasn’t quite expecting you to come up to my quarters at this time.” Or at all really. Perhaps he should lock the door more often, or rather next time. 

He smirked, not the least bit perturbed by his lack of clothing in front of the other elf. He supposed having been raised by a clan who had little concern with nudity was a contributing factor. 

“Shall I chance a guess you had some...free time?”

It had only been a few days since their arrival at Skyhold and he found that even after almost half a week of being there he couldn’t quite wrap his head about being such a large fortress. About being confined within its walls

...Well, perhaps ‘confined’ wasn’t quite the right word for it, but--

One pointed ear twitched at the sounds of movement beside him,                   quickly looking in that direction and calming at the sight of Athos approaching him.

“Oh. Ah. Good evening, Inquisitor. I wasn’t expecting you here at this time of night.” He suddenly looked sheepish, hoping the dim lighting would allow the blush of his to be hidden from the man. 

He was probably wonder how he’d gotten up on the roof, wondering why he was up there if anything. He refocused his attention back to the sky, offering an explanation.

“My little one often finds her way into the Fade far easier than I can some nights so I often find myself wandering, staring up at the stars from where I can.” 

He smiled, scooting slightly to the side to make some room for the other elf.

“Would you care to join me, Inquisitor?”
