It was a relatively slow day on campus, and not by choice of its own. It was cold, after all. Despite the weather, he was filled with anticipation to spend time with Riya and rushed over. There was no schedule he could check as he was in hard sciences, and he couldn’t think of any music majors he knew. But whatever the case, the music room and the grand piano he desperately missed playing were available. It was beckoning him. He couldn’t deny the strong desire to play it. Electronic keyboards couldn’t hold a candle to it, and even less thought went into the upright piano as he walked by.
“Anything in the world. I could’ve played anything in the world, yet I played la vie en rose. Isn’t it your favorite, noona?” A soft smile curled onto his lips, stifling at the edges of his seat, as he continued playing and let his fingers sweep over the keys they knew too well. It brought back some memories—whether they were good or bad was subjective at best. Granted, there were a few incorrect notes every once in a while as he had to actively recall them, but he knew it for the most part and it just felt too good to quit and start over. “How are your classes going? Are musical kids as pretentious as the movies make them out to be?”
