Veronica could sleep anywhere. Give her a pillow or someone to lay her head on and a blanket and she would be out like a light. That being said she still preferred her Egyptian cotton sheets and perfectly plumped pillows to anywhere else in the world. The Pembroke would always be her first choice, except last night. Last night the only place she had wanted to be was in Jughead’s arms and even if that had meant a tent by Sweetwater River she would have wanted to be nowhere else.
It all felt like a dream. Veronica was sure that even with the touch on her skin she was going to open her eyes and find herself back in her bedroom. Them back to barely interacting, certainly not all the progress that had been made, that would lead her to actually wanting to spend the night in the trailer with him. Veronica didn’t open her eyes, wanting this to last as long as possible, because if it was only a dream she didn’t know how to face Jughead in the morning. Not without asking him if he dreamed of her as well and giving away her own secret.
Than she heard his voice and her eyes slowly opened. The smile on his lips was matched by one on hers. “I have been told I steal covers, but nobody has been brave enough to mention I talk.” She didn’t want to move and instead scooted closer to him, her arm falling over his waist and her legs over his, making sure to trap them both on the bed. “What is it that I say? Did I confess my deep, dark secrets to you?” That was doubtful or else he wouldn’t be smiling. A look of concern on his face at least, one of anger at most.
