I know why this bench exists.
Seems random, right? I mean, there's one on the opposite site and it's not like there's anything in between the two that would need us to heal up. After chasing Sephiroth and the fastest ladder slide ever, we go into the Rufus battle, but before that was Jenova and no way people didn't heal right after, unless they dumb.
Well, even if they didn't, this bench has a purpose.
Why does she come from this direction? She would've had to go around somehow and there's no other door for that. Or did she go over? Because she stayed to keep public security busy while Barret, Aerith and Red escaped in one of two elevators that straight down to the bottom.
That's right. Two. There's only two elevators.
The one they come out of goes to the drum only.
So, Tifa's holding off public security and then what shows up to chase the others?
This mofo. Who busts both the lifts.
So, how do Cloud and Tifa get downstairs? They go back to that ladder, climb up and go over the roof and down until they can reach the emergency stairway and run down to catch up with everyone. And that would bring them out right where the bike is on display, which you know Cloud would suggest they take and then he'd say he'll distract public security while Tifa steals one of the other vehicles and that's why she fell into that section earlier, so she could see the cars and suggest taking one.
And I'd put money on this being part of the Remake lifestream where it shows all the missing bits between these two that reveal way too much of things we're not allowed to see in part one lol
