Pretty disappointed the at @peoriaazcam for letting the #skatepark @Rio Vista Community Park become riddled with #hatespeech imagery. All this was on one bleacher in the park. #nazilivesdontmatter #fucknazis #notoleranceforintolerance (at Rio Vista Community Park) https://www.instagram.com/azpx_skateboards/p/BwgHocold90/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1g16o64rv2cel
"Give me your you're, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" If Lady Liberty were a living breathing woman, she would be horrified at the Zero Tolerance policy. America has done this before, unfortunately this IS America, but it doesn't have to be. Paraphrases of things I have read in response the Charlottesville march:
1. "I don't support these guys, but I don't see why we have to read or talk about this. I'd rather keep my timeline clean." 2. "Why speak out against white nationalists? It just gives them more power." 3. "Who cares if Trump 'othered' non-whites the entire election to gain power and support? What's that got to do with what's happening now?"
That which we do not condemn, we accept and encourage. I'm sure I didn't speak loudly enough, vehemently enough, against all the moments of hatred--or acceptance of it--I've seen in my life. But I want to do better. I hope we all do. Our country has never been post-racial, but we must make it clear that these people do not represent our future.
