in the years since getting together, sam and kitty had never really put much importance on christmas. they'd exchange a few little gifts, maybe have a nice meal, but that was about it.
this year, though, sam had something else in mind.
he watched eagerly as kitty ripped open the envelope, revealing two tickets to swan lake, at the busan cinema center. he had been saving up for this for the better part of the year, wanting to do something nice for kitty. he had originally just wanted to take him to busan on his birthday later on in the year, but when he'd seen that swan lake was playing there at the end of december...
the silence feels heavy, and sam shifts in his seat as he waits for kitty to say something.

Money had often been a point for tension between the pair, wth Kitty bringing in the most, yet shipping off a large portion to his family back in Busan -- and Sam paying the lion's share of the rent. The notion of Sam saving up anything he could to afford tickets to a show he'd likely not enjoy, warmed Kitty's little mean heart. A hand swiftly reaches out to punch the other guys shoulder from where the two were seated at the dining section of a 7/11 sharing inhuman amounts of ramen.
Perhaps saying he was overcome with emotion would be a step too far, but upon staring at the tickets, wide-eyed, he couldn't help the incoming tears from building. Nobody had ever considered him in the way Sam did, nobody had ever given up their comfort in order to please him the way Sam did. “ Well? What did you do this for? ” But then, as a smile slowly builds on his face; “ Thank you. But it's in Busan ... we're in Seoul. I know you probably flunked geography and can't read a map ... but even so, for you ... ”
