what’s the point in everything? As humans we pride ourselves in being superior. We like to think that we’re always naturally better than others, and when we’re not then we get anxious. “What if I’m not good enough?” Good question. We like to encourage each other, telling others that life is worth living. In all honestly, I think it could absolutely be. But we create unrealistic expectations in the world around us, in other people, and especially in ourselves. We could impress people over and over again and live a full excitable live, but we’d still never be happy, because there’s always going to be more that we can do. More to better ourselves. But when will it end? When will I finally be “good enough”? When can I stop this endless spiral of insanity. We push ourselves to the limits and for what? What is good enough? What’s the point of doing amazing things in this world, if I’ll never truly be happy? I’ve noticed that I’m most happy when I’m not living in the real world. I smile the most when I listen to music, or watch a movie, or create something from the pit of my imagination. We’re told to do what makes us happy, and what makes us happy is nothing in the “real world”. In the “real world” you prepare yourself for the common life. Educating yourself to the fullest so that you can be the best at doing other peoples bidding, getting paid barely enough as you try to hold the weight of the world on your shoulders, as well has making your spouse and perfect loving kids happy. We’re born into a world where being crippled is the only way to get by. Why do we do this to ourselves? What are we trying to accomplish? “trying to make the world a better place”. How? Our basic existence is just to live, reproduce and die. So why does the community around us put so much pressure on us to be better? Why do we need to be better, to do something with our lives? So we can pretend that our existence means something more. To create our own personal utopia in a hating society that we created ourselves. So what’s the point of all this? i don’t understand.
