Not wasting time, but working.

That obsession where you find something you love so much you just crawl inside it and live there for a while; you learn every small, insignificant detail and commit it to memory. When you’re a writer you get to just go ahead and call that research.

This is true even if I’m just a part-timer at a convenience store. That’s what my mother has stressed to me the most ever since I was young.”

“What else did your mother teach you?”

“Hmm...That’s really the only thing she said, so of course I’m worried about it. How do I make sure to live an extraordinary life?”
