Jane made her way to Ellie’s room as soon as she got the girl’s text, knocking twice on the door as she stuffed the phone into her back pocket.
Ellie was glad that Jane had texted back quickly and was able to come to her room. It made things a lot easier than having to wait. When she heard the knock on the door, the princess moved across the room and opened it up. “He left,” she said even before letting her in.

Jane wasn't sure what to make of the message she had gotten, but she figured it would be better to check in on Ellie than ignore it. Going to the girl's room, she knocked a few times.
Ellie had been released from the infirmary and had only been back in her room for about a day. The stab wound hadn’t been so bad, but she had bled quite a bit and because she was pregnant, they had wanted to make sure she and the baby were fine before letting her go. She had sent Kieran away to grab her some books to read, not wanting to be the one to go into the library, and was waiting in her room when there was a knock at her door. She got up and answered it, surprised to see Jane. “Hey, what are you doing here?”

“Back I am, indeed. Have I changed much?”
“I mean, not really. You’re pretty much the same, which is great. How are you?”
"Uh— hey. You alright? You seem a little upset..."
“Oh, hi, I’m sorry. Have you been standing there long? I am upset honestly. I want to say that I’m not, but...are you alright?”
