Today we pay tribute to the 8-Track tape.

The 8-Track Tape was a popular means of playing music in the mid 1960s till its demise in the late 1980s. The tapes went hand in hand with the booming auto industry of the time, the in car player made it much easier to play your favorite tapes at home or on the go. 8-Track Boom Boxes were even made for portability anytime anyplace. Good Times Didn't Last Long as the Compact Cassette was looming all the wile from the early 1970s. Some drawbacks of the 8-Track were the quality of the tapes themselves, they would heat wile playing making the sound higher and distorting content. The tapes also had no rewind feature, Making the Compact Cassette all the more marketable. Even After the release of the Compact Cassette 8-Tracks Were still produced by Major Record Labels Until The Late 1980s, Many agree the last of these was Fleetwood Macs Greatest Hits Released in November 1988. So with This we play on the dead format and remember a simpler time, when your pinto was still cool and when your Tom Petty 8-Track was your favorite album.
