Songs I Found Very Surprising: Kasey Anderson "Real Gone" - OK, nevermind Kasey Anderson's legal situation. He probably got what he deserves. He's still a very talent songwriter. Kasey Anderson is a Portland musician with a gritty voice, country rock feel, and a way with words. (He's good with people's names as well.) I bought this CD, "Nowhere Nights" from Kasey himself a few years ago. I was surprised by how much I liked the entire album. But then it got to the final track, "Real Gone." There's nothing amazing about this song, but everything comes together so damn well. The groove between the bass line and drums carry the song, but the guitar work gets just a little more layered with each verse so it keeps it interesting. I particularly like the story he is telling, and how he tells it. Another nice surprise.
