Redheaded Cheerleader Prologue Synopsis
(The RP takes place four months before the events of Redheaded Cheereader, placing it in March as opposed to July where ANRC is set in. It is a dark time for the Middleton High Cheer Squad. Veruca Salt, the obscenely rich mean girl who was kicked out of Wonka’s factory four years prior [she is aged 17 1/2 and headed to her senior year thankfully], heads not only the Middleton High Squad as its captain but is also on the very top of the Middleton High Food Chain and the leader of a vile and vicious group of girls known as the Middleton High Posse. She has also gone through boyfriend after boyfriend as if they were used tissues to her. In addition, Veruca headlines a musical career and a fashion/fragrance/jewelry line that earns her millions of dollars a year and also has 15,000 servants to her name. Statues and pictures of Veruca in triumphant poses, for example, appear in about every room of the Salt Mansion.)
(The Posse, about 25 to 30 in number, usually make fun of and taunt Kim’s side of the squad and her friends. In addition, Ron had to retire his position as the Middleton Mad Dog mascot as he was the victim of one of the Posse’s pranks.)
(As for Kim, she is a year behind Veruca. She is on the cheer squad and still goes on her misssions and still hangs with Ron, Monique and her friends. Of note is that she is friends with Bonnie because Kim saved her from being punched in the face by a mean girl [whom later became affiliated with the Posse] when they were in the first grade.)
(The squad is divided in two camps: the side that supports Veruca [that being the Posse, obviously and girls that often buy Veruca's stuff] and the girls that support Kim. The only time that they appear united is during cheer competitions and pep rallies where Veruca would be on the top of her infamous pyramid with Kim, Bonnie, and Tara having the unfortuate role of being on the bottom. Veruca wants to keep the divisive nature of the squad away from the eyes of the crowd, which is what she usually prefers.)
(It doesn't help Barkin either that the School Board is headed by Veruca's father, Henry. He's the one who gave the top section of the Posse (Veruca's main group of girls on the cheer squad and the seniors who aren't on the cheer squad but just as mean and would follow Veruca) complete immunity from detention.)
(However, Veruca picks on Kim more often than any other of the other girls, often calling her very rude names. At the same time, Veruca admires Kim’s tenacity to stay on the squad despite the bullying. This could be because Kim is the only one of the good cheerleaders who can stand up to Veruca and the Posse. Kim, in the meantime, has always been frustrated at how Veruca could get away with so much. Truth be told, she would more than likely slap Veruca in the face for all the sins that she had committed, but she relents because Veruca would threaten her with two cans of bear mace, a Taser, and a lawsuit against the entire Possible family. That's primarily the reason why that she is the main antagonist of the Redheaded Cheerleader story.)
(Kim has tried, time and again, at how Veruca is unfit to lead the cheer squad because of how the peanut heiress breaks so many rules and gets away with it. She has an entire room of of her house dedicated to how Veruca won the captainship of the squad away from her when Veruca was about to enter her sophomore year and Kim into her freshman year. Veruca usually either denies this in front of local media or uses tactics such as batting her eyelashes to win the attention of the adults and her fans, making Kim even more frustrated. Kim vowed that she would expose Veruca one day for the fraud that she is and also vows that she will be captain, but Veruca is not often fazed by Kim's threats. In turn, Veruca often threatens to kick Kim or her friends off the squad, to which Kim replies that those are empty boasts.)
(Little do these two girls with opposite personalities will have their lives changed forever by a single bet.)
