The NPCs just aren't intimidated by you, blorbo <33 I have no control over his lines, they just happen.
The joys of playing a character that appears to be also partially a NPC is such a trip, you never know what to expect next.
(Dutch got cocky and thought the road belonged to him, the NPC shouted 'OUTTA THE WAY', which Dutch disagreed with, silly little old man)
I just smiled at this. I was changing the horse tack to be more Dutch-y w/ all the gold bling and black when Dutch decided to be nice to an NPC for a change :) (*though he respects Maggie Fike because she's too badass to be bothered by his sassitude; I mean the woman survived a fire that should have been fatal but she pulled through so Dutch is just a walk in the park; Marcel though thinks he sees a twinkle in his eye though when he talks to her; shhhh Marcel don't start rumours and cause trouble between Vandermatthews (;)), he keeps getting sprayed by Harriet (don't we all), is fine with Madam Nazar and is getting along better with Cripps after he had had a discussion with Hosea)
So I set cinematic mode on. The big dummy decided to take the narrowest path going past the dude in the wagon, got bumped slightly and went airborne as you can see in the first screenshot, and this exchange happened. He's not doomed by the narrative here but his plans often still don't go according to plan. Poor bub. (feat. my Mustang mare, Legend, who is such a patient soul) (I know I should know better than to use cinematic mode with him, he also likes to take the OPPOSITE route I set for him (and he will wander around like an NPC on the horse if I set no path and put cinematic mode on; I once caused a traffic jam because he decided to stop riding but it's cool as I have no idea where he'll take me) but I still do it anyways, it's been producing some nice photos and funny result like this :D)
Some more fun observations, from today: Made a post about further observations earlier here Earlier in the day, put Dutch on a trail ride on Cinematic Mode as I tended to something else. He did a few loops around New Hanover. Came back, he was back at camp, on the horse, right in front of the tent. It's like he's a homing pigeon? Left Dutch in the camp tent, while taking my one dog out for a walk. Set his scenario to sleeping, so he was taking a snooze. Came home to a NPC on his white and chestnut horse going on about people not leaving him alone, needing space etc. The guy then got argumentive again and tried to shoot him, Hosea pulled him out of the saddle and laid a beating on him. I did not have Hosea out and about when I was out on my walk, I only brought him out post-walk when the guy was getting all riled. The guy had to have gone off the road to find the camp, idk if another player got the guy in disarray and the guy took it out on the sleeping gay cowboy, it was unusual. I *never* had all these interesting things happen to me when just playing vanilla AKA 'playing the game the way it's meant to be played' (it's a character model change, that's all, not a lobby emptying, blowing up 100 times etc)
He just CANNOT go a day without running into issues with random NPCs. In this case, he got smart with an NPC that either he bumped into or the NPC bumped into him (I hate when they do that thing where they cross into your path). You don't have to mouth off at them, Dutch. (feat. his hubby's Silver Dollar who got away without a scrape; good thing because I'd take away his Cinematic Mode privileges for a week; Dutch's hat on the hand did receive damage)
Just thinking about how my roommate has this mandatory cut scene when they walk their dog.
There is this 11 year old big kid who lives on our block, and he just HAS to talk to my roommate whenever they are out walking Bacon, their dog.
This kid, from what I'm told, is a certified yapper and can talk the ear off of even the best patient listeners to his long rambling tales.
So apparently, the tea recently is that another kid slapped him because of a disagreement at school. And that is fucking crazy because what was that deep between 5th graders that another child had to physically put his hands on him?! Lol
