I think I want to use one of these first years as my profile, but originally I only wanted to draw Ortho, Ace, and Deuce, but it got kinda out of hand...

I’m just imagining little hedgehog ace somehow causing riddles overblot and then post overblot ace and deuce getting cuddled and cradled by a crying riddle like ‘oh no I almost hurt them, they’re so SMALL’

Sorry for the late response, but yes absolutely! All the overblots still happen in my NRC Zoo AU, just they are caused a little bit differently in some cases. Ace and Deuce as hedgehogs are still violating the Queen of Hearts rules which annoys Riddle to no end! They break curfew, they are leaving little paint trails all over the place, Ace still eats Riddle’s tart (Riddle opens the fridge and is flabbergasted to see little hedgehog Ace eating the strawberry right on top). So all these incidents leads to the other Heartslabyul students confronting Riddle’s authority at the Unbirthday party, like “Why should we listen to you when you can’t even keep the hedgehogs under control? Do you even know what you’re doing? Are you even a good leader? You’re nothing but a tyrant!”

Then the Overblot happens and little hedgehog ADeuce stick around with Trey and Cater to help stop Riddle. When Riddle wakes up he is stricken with grief that he hurt everyone, including the two new additions to Heartslabyul that have brought chaos, but also an unpredictability to Riddle’s life that he somewhat enjoys even if his mother would disapprove the disruption to routine. I could go on about the other NRC Zoo overblots, but I shall leave it here for now with this doodle of Riddle!

Can I give ZooAU!Jack a plushie in the shape of a cactus?

Of course! He absolutely loves it! His cactus collection grows some more to Leona’s and dismay 🌵

Ok but just hear me out zoo au Jack just becoming the dorms pillow or guard dog like just imagine it. This big fluffy intimidating wolf who if you tell “ Here’s a cactus Jack do you want to cactus” will immediately be your bestie.

Jack in my NRC Zoo AU definitely acts all big and tough but he’s actually such a softie. He’ll bark at Leona to wake up, but after like five minutes of trying to get him up, he’ll just join in the nap time, which was secretly Leona’s plan all along because he gets a nap buddy. His tail also gives him away because he’ll see Ruggie and Leona passing a Magift disc around and Leona will be like, “You wanna join?” Then Jack shakes his head meanwhile his tail is going a mile a minute, so obviously Leona just tosses it at him to get him involved.

Do any of the other NRC animals have a form of "speech", like how SebCroc says waka? Just cause I'm curious if Vil has tried to teach kitty Epel other words.

I like to think that all the other first years in my NRC Zoo AU would have unique ways of speaking, but none are quite as iconic as Sebcroc’s “Waka.” Since Ace and Deuce are hedgehogs, they mainly communicate in squeaks. Jack is a wolf, but I like to think he makes those exaggerated “boofs” and “awoof” noises.

I wish I could somehow convey Epel’s meows with a country twang, but I have no idea on what that would even look like typed out. Sometimes Epel tries to bark like a dog because he wishes he could be a big tough wolf/dog like Jack instead of a small cat that everyone fawns over. Then last, but certainly not least, Ortho is an iDog in this au, so he can play whatever noise/song he wants, but I think it would be funny if all the other characters hear beeps and boops, while Idia understands it perfectly as well as the other animals. Either that or Ortho could speak in binary, which would be hilarious since it would just be a bunch of zeroes and ones.

Here’s the first years as animals! ✨

We have Ace and Deuce as hedgehogs, Epel as a cat, Jack as a dog, Ortho as an iDog, and Sebek as a crocodile! I had plans to add them into the Sebcroc AU, but I wasn’t sure if people would be interested or if it would feel too crowded…I had fun making all the designs, especially Epel. I did plan out Epel’s entrance ceremony comic aka how he meets Vil, but idk if or when I’d draw it.

For hedgehog Ace and Deuce, where do they normally reside when they run away?

I MISSED THIS ASK I’M SO SORRY!!

So hedgehog Ace and Deuce have a scheme where they like trick Riddle. When they first started escaping their cage they would always hide in the Botanical Garden, so Riddle would always go straight there when they got out. Then, they start changing their location to Riddle’s bed, so when Riddle saw they got out, he still went straight to the Botanical Garden. Riddle has to comb through the whole Botanical Garden, so it gives Ace and Deuce plenty of time to nap in Riddle’s bed. After an hour or so, Ace and Deuce run over to the Botanical Garden and act like they were there the whole time to keep up their scheme. They sometimes switch it up and sleep in the roses, which they also really enjoy.

Poor Riddle doesn’t have a clue that Ace and Deuce are doing this…Cater knows and refuses to tell because where’s the fun in that ✨
