hey i noticed that you're vegan and i was wondering i you had any like tips or knew of any websites for food and stuff? i've been considering changing my eating habits and becoming pescetarian, but due to a new allergy i cannot eat dairy so finding certain foods is a bit hard i guess (i'm also a bit picky on top of that whoops), but thanks in advance!
Ooh that’s a fun step! I was actually a pescatarian for a few years before the rest of my vegan-evolution started. I’m an incredibly picky eater as well, but I actually found vegan food worked better for me, although I guess it depends on the person.
When I first transitioned to vegan I loved these sites x x x, but one thing I can promise you is that eliminating different animal products from your diet is really not as hard as it’s made out to be. The mental barrier was probably the most difficult part, as the majority of society uses them without thought. Explore dishes you might not have thought of before.
I can give you a 99% guarantee that there is a dairy-free version of everything people eat, the trick is finding, and making sure that it isn’t gross. (for example, “Van’s” waffles are generally in the gross section, but “Ian’s” are delicious.) And if you’re ever stuck or need something specific, there’s a huge dairy-free/pesca/vegetarian/vegan community online, ready to help.
Take it slow. I personally was in a rage of vegan-power and switched super fast, but full adjustments take time. Maybe make a few goals to get to by specific dates (ex. cutting out different meat types, amount of consumption, etc.)
The best advice I can give is to google substitutes, use soy milk in cooking and almond/coconut for other needs, and remember, the cows will thank you.
