Paris Skartsolias is an actor mostly known for his role as Manolakis at "Καφέ της Χαράς/Chara's Cafeteria" or Teo at "Tamam"
My pyjama "home fashion isolation" style during this lockdown.
And well, it's officially 6 weeks after surgery, there are some stitches and scabs left, as you can see, my mobility has improved but I'm careful. At least now, I can use silicone bands in the larger incisions. I haven't been to the gym since mid December and I'm banned from exercise other than basic cardio for another two more months, I feel restless. In two more weeks back to work. I can't wait to finally start moving my ass again!
It's slow, but everything makes sense now.

Against all the odds.Definitely, It wasn't an easy road, and now, the pain and pain relievers, bandages and poor mobility (I'm a T-Rex) but I have never felt such freedom and happiness before, I find it hard to believe that it has already happened.
Still, I have two weeks left covered in bandages like a mummy until the "reveal" day, and poor mobility for a few more weeks but still, I can't wait to be fully recovered and uncovered.

I had my first pre-op with Dabritz's team and was put on the surgery waiting list in October - do you or any followers know when I'm likely to get my surgery? I was told it would likely be July/early August but I haven't heard anything yet. Also how long before the surgery sate do you usually get informed of it? Thanks
Their recent waiting times have been about a year between the first appointment and surgery itself, so you might have a little longer to wait unfortunately. You can definitely contact them to check on your status, though.

Dragon/infernal mask for R., for his Regenesis character.
Made of card/sheet brass, sprayed black, misted red, then with the paint sanded off the edges. Horn ‘roots’ are red leather; eye mesh is two-tone red/gold crystal organza; teeth are Fimo air dry clay, stained with oil paint. Based on a mashup of Noam Kahalany’s papercraft cobra and Wintercroft’s cat skull.
So, Regenesis - my main LARP as a player - has things called ‘soulforges’, which involve mutilating Shapers’ (PCs’) soul in exotic ways for fun and profit, drastically changing your appearance. A lot of these involve quite extensive makeup jobs, which are tricky if you have sensitive skin. My friend R. is already has a Primal soulforge (which gives you a ‘chimeric mish-mash of predator animals’ look - his is distinctly draconic), but is looking to augment that with an Infernal soulforge (which is rather demonic - the brief includes ‘Horns or other bony protuberances on the brow. Sections of red, purple, or blue skin. Unnatural iris shapes. Geometric patterning.‘). Since he doesn’t get on well with makeup, I instead decided to make him a mask - since the Wintercroft skull mask set went on sale as I was thinking about it, and offer a mask you can eat and drink in (and even wear glasses), I decided to give it a go.
I built this on a base of Wintercroft’s cat skull, with curling serpentine horns (actually, the pattern is from a snake!). Early on, I decided that the weird quasi-abstraction of Wintercroft masks was actually a really good look for this - by not trying to look like a real dragon, or a Doom monster, the strange angular facets give the look of something numinous that’s descended from a higher (or ascended from a lower) realm of existence and projected itself into the world. I am honestly overjoyed how well the ‘edge burnishing’ went, too - it was a shame to cover up the original gold, but the thin lines of bright gold pick out the edges of the mask beautifully, and look like they’re glowing with heat or power in the right lights. The teeth rounded it out - as something bright, gleaming, and prominent (my, Shaper, what large teeth you have), they distract from the lower half of your face and make it look like you have a bestial, predatory face.
I think this might be my favourite thing I’ve ever made? I am a big fan of LARP props that might not be 100% WYSIWIG physically, but rather try to evoke a strong feeling/or impression, and I think that this worked quite well - not to mention that all the materials came together beautifully.
A bird friend for O, for their Regenesis character.
So, O’s character has acquired Bluebell, a small friendly bird who accompanies them and generally completes their disney princess aesthetic. I didn’t want to do something felted - I can’t felt! - and Christmas-tree-ornament-style birds looked too dead. As such, I opted for something a bit more abstract, and in nicer materials, that would evoke the feel of a cute bird animal companion without venturing into the uncanny valley.
The bird pattern is by @kntanos - I spray-mounted a sheet of copper foil onto the net before folding, which was a bit of a pain to work with but came out well in the end. The eyes are plastic teddybear eyes off ebay, the feet are twisted copper wire, and the paint is acrylic - I had to take care to avoid the last while brasso-polishing its surfaces up. Inside, I hung a tiny little brass bell, to let the bird ‘sing’ - it’s a bit clunky, and I can’t open it up to fix it, but if you hold Bluebell right, she sings!
