As a massive fan of The THING this game is exactly what I've been craving since I played the one from 2002 long ago. Highly recommended if you love the movie even slightly as much as I do. It's playable either solo or with up to 8 players too.
Venture forth as part of a specialized team of fellow players tasked with retrieving classified materials, evading the black goo virus, and
I made this concept art for a monster in a game. It's supposed to be a mimic and this is how it transforms from a normal looking human into its monster form
i am once again writing fanfiction for games with unnamed playable characters
the game in question is Nuclear Nightmare, a co-op survival game set in the arctic. if you like Lethal Company, you'll probably like this game. it's a good time!
the whole fic will be posted on ao3 once it's done but here's a bit of what i have so far:
Armando Holste rubbed his gloved hands together and hunched over to inspect Corelli's work. As the sole mechanical engineer on site, she knew more about the system than Holste, though she'd thoroughly educated all six of them on the inner workings of the machine the first time it had gone down, back when they had time to be taught such things. Back when there were six of them.
"'Bout done here," Corelli said. Despite the clouds threatening to break into a storm overhead and the rapidly decreasing temperature, she spoke in that slow, elongated drawl she always did. Holste considered himself a patient man, and he was raised to respect his elders, but the lack of urgency pricked a very specific nerve. None of them had spoken with anyone outside of their small group for well over the contracted eight months. A better man than Holste would've found himself grinding his teeth at the same five voices. "Head on back to the silo. Door'll be open by the time you get there. I'll catch up."
"Not a chance." Holste eyed the horizon. They had maybe twenty minutes until it was too dark to see the snow under their boots, even with the red lights alarming on the sabotaged generator. His flashlight had long since run out of battery, and his glowstick was somewhere between here and the med bay, buried under at least a foot of snow. If the fix was as simple as Corelli made it out to be, they'd be able to hunker down in one of the offices until daylight. If it wasn't, or if the generator went out again at night—
He had a pistol and a parka.
