GRIP: Combat Racing (2018, Caged Element)
Great vehicular combat game! I could post so many more shots of it, every track is gorgeous. I especially love the deathmatch-style arena mode, very Twisted Metal-y. It's $4 atm in the Steam sale, easily worth that price.

RIP Kwalee Labs. They made a great game, only for the entire team to get laid off less than a month after release.
Unreal Tournament 3 (2007, Epic Games)
I noticed yesterday was the 3 year anniversary of when Unreal Tournament 3's "X" update was silently cancelled.
Thanks Tim Sweeney for delisting the whole series off every platform and never even saying why! Very cool!

The Silent Cartographer: Evolved mod for Halo: CE (created by the SPV3 Dev Team)
Very impressive reimagining of Halo: CE's best level, this time with multiple paths, secrets, and a lot of areas that felt very Halo 2-inspired. I loved it, took me nearly 2 hours to beat it with a friend.

Carmageddon: Rogue Shift (2026, 34BigThings)
I've been really enjoying this spin-off despite it not sharing much in common with previous Carmageddons, other than featuring cars that smash into each other and some of those cars being inspired by ones from the old games.
It's a fun mix of vehicular combat racing and a roguelite. It reminds me a lot of Full Auto, the Xbox 360/PS3 game from 2006, and the movie Death Race with Jason Statham.
My only gripes so far are the lack of multiplayer and that the handling is a bit rough specifically with the first car, the others just suffer from oversteering.
Anthem (2019-2026, BioWare Edmonton/Austin)
Revisited it over the last few days to say goodbye since the servers are shutting down today. It's such a shame since the core gameplay is so good, flying around in a game has never felt better.
So much potential wasted by abandoning it.
Thankfully there's some people (The Fort's Forge) working on hopefully creating a server emulator, maybe after that modders will finish what BioWare couldn't.

I am so, so glad this ended up being worth the 13 year wait! Highly recommended, especially if you're a fan of Alien: Isolation. It's a contender for my GOTY, my only complaint is that I want more.
I so badly want an actual model of the IC robot (hopefully with a voicebox), such an adorable little guy.
PRAGMATA Sketchbook demo (2025, Capcom)
I loved the demo so much I beat it 4 times in a row. Day one buy for me now.
Felt kinda like Dead Space (without the horror) mixed with a little bit of The Surge (mostly the setting of the first one, which I love), and I really liked the hacking minigame part of the combat.
VIRUS (1999) Directed by John Bruno Cinematography by David Eggby
It flopped hard and was panned by everyone, even Jamie Lee Curtis has said it's one of her worst films, but I'll never understand the hate. I rewatch it every few years and always enjoy it. It's a fun movie, the creature designs and special effects are top notch and I love horror films where they're stuck on a large ship like this with no help in sight (Ghost Ship is another favorite of mine).
Also how can JLC say this is a "piece of shit" and one of her worst movies when Halloween: Resurrection exists?

Painkiller (2025, Anshar Studios)
It's more of a spin-off than a direct successor to the originals but I'm having a lot of fun with it. It's a co-op FPS that plays a lot like if you mixed the newer DOOMs + Left 4 Dead with the aesthetics and weapons of the original Painkiller.

Ground Zero demo (2025, Malformation Games)
Phenomenal demo! It's pretty long too. If you like classic survival horror games with fixed camera angles then I highly recommend giving it a whirl (and disable modern controls).
