this is rather Modern AU but STILL I WANNA KNOW!! Who chooses the movies & Who initiates kissing during the moving, thus distracting the other from the movie all together

GOD OK I think that depending on the situation they would both be on the choosing end. The genres might differ pretty drastically though. Alyx is probably going to know what Just came out on Netflix and either wants to watch it or wants Aymeric to watch it. Aymeric suggests things that are like... Old Classics he cannot believe Alyx has never seen before. Some of them are really boring, but he’s excited about it so that’s ok. 

.....Alyx is probably more guilty of initiating the “chill” on a Netflix & Chill night. Distracting him is one of her favorite hobbies, BUT Aymeric is a sneaky devil and tbh I wouldn’t put it past him not to pull a move either if the mood was right. I guess it kind of depends how comfortable they are with each other so timeline is important context.

8. What is your character’s favourite place— to visit, or to stay in?

Rothe is just...embarrassingly in love with Limsa Lominsa. He's the type to never be home even if he's off work because he loves walking around the city so much. Hawker's isn't as cut-throat as Uldah’s merchant wards, and sometimes vendors throw in some extra if they see your face enough. So Rothe will make his face seen enough. He is also fond of the Mist--the adventurers get up to some crazy antics and tip very well. Otherwise he’s at home will all his windows open so both he and the mandragora can shove their heads outside for some salty air.

Kassem’s favorite place is his workshop. At home. Not Ul’dah. He isn't expected to work with customers there, has all the resources he could possibly need, and never receives unwanted guests. He’s managed to scrape together basic equipment and pigments/metals, but most of what he’s used to working with is well out of his price range in Ul’dah.

15. What is the most important item in your character’s possession?

Rothe’s most important item would be his earrings! He never goes without them, and is typically fiddling with them should his hands be free. They were a gift from Keit’a when he moved to Limsa--each of the Aubreys (+Kei) have a matching pair. They were made in the spirit of an old tradition, that wearing gold earrings would help pay for burial in a foreign land.

Kassem’s...might just also be a piece of jewelry. He has very strong bonds with both of his parents, very much a golden-child wannabe. He and Ikraam received matching rings for their coming of age, and he wears his as often as possible when going out, typically over gloves if he has any on. It stays off when he’s working or near any kind of chemical.

“His sword— standard issue, not that of house Borel, he had not earned that yet— sat stuck in the ground beside his head, pristine despite its use when the dragons had gotten too close for his bow and arrow. Pristine enough to show him his reflection...and the way his pupils had narrowed to slits. When he choken on a gasp, he could see that his canines had begun to extend into proper fangs.

Heretic. Aymeric’s mind rebelled against what it saw. In spite of that, he knew what this meant.

“I did not— I am not a—!” He tried to speak, to proclaim his innocence, but the arm on his throat pressed down harder and choked his denials.

“I know you are not, fool.” The lancer snapped, and when he gnashed his own teeth, Aymeric felt a bolt of fear arc up his spine like levin at the sight of fangs protruding from those parted lips. “Nor am I. But at least you won’t suffer this alone. Be grateful.”

The pressure Aymeric felt beneath his skin, the stretching, pulling agony grew too hot, too scalding between his shoulder blades. It felt like there was something there, waiting to burst from his skin, fighting, clawing to break free of him. Even despite the squeeze on his throat, the weight of the lancer pinning him down, his back arched off of the ground. 

“Kill me.” He begged— for he could not fathom a worse fate than this.

“Do as you’re told,” the lancer growled, and Aymeric watched his pupils slit. “And I won’t have to.””

Iyna and...everyone. She’s been burned so often before, she’s simply automatically wary. It takes time and effort to get past her defenses.

C’oreta has a hard time trusting Rurukuta after what he did to Hamon and Chuchuto. In Gage Acq, she’s wary of Ioh’juhn. He’s a swell guy and super cute, but there’s something just under the surface and it puts her on edge.

38. what would they get each other for gifts?

Aymeric’s go to gifts for Synnove tend to be either raw gemstones (so she can cut them herself; if it’s not carbuncle-quality, she can make her own jewelry instead) or chocolates/pastries. While he still loves traditional Coerthan and Ishgardian treats, Synnove has absolutely converted him to Limsa Lominsa’s cafe and food cultures, and Lominsan chocolatiers are insane geniuses in their own right. On the way to pick her up at the Guild, he’ll frequently stop by one of their favorite chocolate shops to get a box of her preferred flavors or a box of some new concoction the chocolatiers are testing. If not a chocolate shop, then one of the cafes for some savory or sweet pastries, or even one of the candy shops for a bag of her favorite taffies. Aymeric is not crafty himself, but he has an eye for quality and zero hesitance on calling his lady’s friends for advice.

Synnove, meanwhile, likes to gift Aymeric practical things she makes herself: a new chain for his pocket watch; an engraved fountain pen and set of nibs; a new pair of buttery soft leather gloves, lined with fleece; a fabric bookmark decorated with embroidery. She’s very good at noting details like a favorite pen’s nib being worn down, or gloves getting threadbare, or Aymeric dog-earing pages in books please stop that. She is also The Baked Good provider, and will shove a stash of cookies or brownies or some other sweet treat into Aymeric’s pack when he heads back to Ishgard, or delivers them herself at the Congregation or Parliament. (Aymeric can and has beaten off Lucia, Handeloup, and his parliamentary aides on those occasions Synnove forgot to make enough to feed his horde of underlings.)

10. Where is a special place they hold close to their hearts? Why is it special?

The Praetorium ahem. It’d have to be the cabin of conveniently unknown location (why would the Warrior of Light and an ex-legatus share the of their secret getaway - this has nothing to do with me waiting and seeing what Ilsabard holds).

While on a mission they took shelter in an abandoned cabin that was more... barely held together planks of wood than anything else at the time (a slight exaggeration). Later on, they used it as a temporary base of operations for a mission, a secret meet-up place, and later still, resolved to fix it up together. So this place has seen pretty much the entire growth of their relationship from unlikely allies to increasing tension and attraction, (to ‘lets meet at the cabin and bone’) and so on.

It also... kind of started as my ‘if Gaius dies he’s going to “actually” just retire to a cabin in the woods’, so it also features prominently in any future headcanons where they just leave the stage of worldly woes and chill out together. (Cue all my cottagecore, petrichor-laden hc’s of Gaius chopping wood and Ahru bringing home something she’s hunted, something she’s gathered, and them cooking together and curling up by the fire and aaaaaaa)

my favorite job is red mage, hands down. it was the first class i got to 80, and i couldn’t even list all the reasons i love playing it without being here all day. being able to support my party from wipes is my #1 favorite aspect of the job, though, along with the style.

funnily enough, the first class i got to fifty (so i could pick up red mage) was black mage. and i abandoned it there immediately because i just didn’t jive with the monotony of low level blm. i’m sure i’ll enjoy it more when i give it another shot, but i’ve been avoiding it like the plague.

i have SO MANY favorite dungeons, but i ended up going with sohr khai. heavensward had so many incredible dungeons to explore, but i loved the lore behind sohr khai and our reasons for being there. plus, it’s fucking S T U N N I N G. look at it!
