Aang would let the world burn if what happened to Nujian happened to Appa, Yangchen actually showed more restraint than I was expecting.

Pik and Pak

Do their names have some other, inappropriate meaning I don't know about? Because I have had two posts that didn't appear on the searches, until I removed the "#Pik and Pak" tag from it?

Anyway, here is a meme I wasn't able to post awhile ago.

I keep seeing this weird rumor pop up on social media where people say Yangchen is a ruthless Avatar because she tortured and killed the woman that killed Nujian (her bison) but I've read her book series twice and nothing even remotely close to that happens at all?

Like with "woman who killed the bison" I assume they mean the character Chaisee, but Chaisee did not kill Nujian. You could argue Chaisee's actions lead to Nujian's death (the boy that killed Nujian was lured to the island by Chaisee and her people and then tortured to develop the combustion bending technique, which he used to kill Nujian) but even then it's pretty indirectly bc Chaisee had no idea they were even gonna find this kid, or if the kid was even still alive bc he had been abandoned. And then the torture part?? Yangchen never once tortured anyone? It's Chaisee that tortured people! The only thing I can think of that kind of resembles what they mean is when Yangchen locked herself and Chaisee in a room and threatened to get both Chaisee and herself killed if Chaisee didn't yield in time. It's more emotional manipulation or blackmail than anything.

I'm so curious where this rumor sprouted from because like I explained above the actual story and what is described in the rumor differ so much? Like at this point I know it's just people that didn't read the books and didn't fact check anything just repeating something they saw someone else say. But who was the first person that got it so so wrong because they had to have read the books and misunderstood or misremembered them, right? Either way it's perplexing
