(because boy does tumblr love chewing up and spitting out image quality) What a year it has been, buttons. At the start of the year I signed up for Fandom Trumps Hate for the first time, and the winning bidder had the BEST ideas. We ended up putting together the concept for this piece based off the fan theory that the elderly fire sage in LoK who helps Korra was actually Azula!
I've always cottoned with the thought that Azula's healing journey might more closely mirror Iroh's rather than Zuko's, looking to the spiritual side of things to eventually find her place outside of Ozai, or even the royal family. Here she's just joined the sect of fire sages, and they have revealed the secret herd of sky bison they have been tending to ever since the start of the war. In short: Azula gets fuzz therapy.
This was an absolutely delight to work on from start to finish and I'm very glad to have taken the plunge. I will definitely be signing up for next year's FTH!
