Time has come as we all, oh, go down Yeah but for the fall, ooh, my Do you dare to look him right in the eyes? Yeah
Oh, 'cause they will run you down, down 'til the dark Yes and they will run you down, down 'til you fall And they will run you down, down 'til you go Yeah, so you can't crawl no more
Way Down We Go by Kaleo! Janus is a big antagonist in Fallout 76 for Mal and Nate. An educated, narcissistic raider boss who's gone a bit crazy with the end of the world and the lack of social rules to hold him in place anymore. He takes a particular dislike to the Beans and the more peaceful world they're trying to build. In one story, he catches them both and tortures them for several days, including taking one of Nate's eyes. Though they're eventually rescued and believe they've killed him, Janus survives. Mal will eventually take one of Janus's eyes in retribution, but to be honest, it just makes him look scarier

Who are your favourite characters and, If any, what songs do you associate with them?
Oh, a very fun one! I have a silly thing where I am basically incapable of associating non-period/setting “appropriate” songs with Fallout, so as a bonus they’re all midcentury-sounding and could fit nicely in the setting.
I also gathered a bunch when I was working on AATW so I have a few....
1. Nick Valentine is my favorite FO character, hands down. Jazzier ones work best for him but I’m especially fond of “Doin’ the Uptown Lowdown” and “All or Nothing At All” by Frank Sinatara (my personal official Nick Romance Song.)
2. To the shock of absolutely no one, Danse is also high on the list. I like to stick him with his bluegrass/western preferences... I got to associating the NV soundtrack with him actually, especially “In the Shadow of the Valley” for how peaceful it is (and its longing for a place to rest.) As a cheeky bonus, “The Ballad of Paladin.”
3. The third slot is extremely hard to fill and rotates on basically a daily and minute-to-minute basis but right now it’s Piper. I like Betty Hutton and Ella Fitzgerald for her... sassy female vocalists for a city girl. Also really like “Walkin’ After Midnight” by Patsy Cline for her “country” roots outside the city.
7, 11, 14 & 23 for whoever takes your fancy 😊
hello!! tysm!! I'd love to do those!! I think I'll do them for Jack since I've been doing a lot of stuff with him this past year and he's been bouncing around my brain more than the others atm lol.
7) Vice-Versa! If your OC is in the modern day, what fantasy class would they be? Would they be a different race?
I honestly think if Jack was in some fantasy setting (DnD or other) he'd be an wild-magic sorcerer! naturally a very clumsy person, so I think that'd play well into wild magic, can v much see him messing up a spell and it going out of control v easily lol. For a race? honestly idk why but I'm drawn to him being more draconic? either full draconian or half-dragon! can't even go into why It just feels right for some reason lol
11) What was your inspiration for your OC?
My inspiration for Jack goes way way back to when FNV first dropped, the first character I ever made for that game was called Jack, and the name kinda just stuck! personality wise he was COMPLETELY different back then, to put it lightly he was an arsehole! I used him primarily for bad karma playthroughs so he was just a murderous dick to everybody. Ofc as I got older he changed heavily, I started to impart more of my own quirks or traits into him and he became way less edgy. He sorta morphed into this goofy dumbass with a heart of gold (probably subconciously inspired by Alistair from Dragon Age maybe a lil Hawke too?) and he was like that for a good few years, until like.. 2/3 years ago? And I decided to more develop his actual character and for that I was definitely inspired by Trigun, I really liked the appeal of a character choosing non-violence in a broken, decaying and violent world and eventually being wittled down into becoming the kind of person that would/could kill. I wanted to play around with what affect that would have on a person! and thus, our most recent iteration of Jack is born! still goofy, dumb and with a heart of gold! just peppered with healthy amounts of trauma now!
14) Who's a character your OC cannot stand! It's on sight when they see them!
For Jack, I think he would absolutely despise the Think Tank from Old World Blues. He can probably barely understand a word that they're saying to him, ontop of that they constantly talk down to him and condescend him. I can see very quickly his patience for them and their bullshit running out, especially seeing all the shit they are responsible for in Big MT. He'd probably vibe with Dr. Mobius and Dr. 8 though.
23) Is your OC reliable? Can I call them up at two in the morning if I have a flat tire?
If you call Jack at 2 in the morning his ass is NOT answering, he sleeps like a brick. Any other time? absolutely, already on his way with a spare, if you need help with literally anything he will come. Guess you could say it's his way of showing love. If you're his friend he's always going to be there to help out, even if it's something he isn't that skilled in or doesn't know much about, he'll probably just come over to provide moral support or to try and figure it out together.
